The Royal Tudor Beasts collection, inspired by royal heritage, celebrates the ten stone statues that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace. These sculptures were created to commemorate Henry VIII’s marriage to Jane Seymour and represent the might of the Tudor dynasty. The collection began with the Lion of England, and now the second coin in the bullion series features the Yale of Beaufort.

The coin features the mythical yale on the reverse, with a chainmail surface animation background providing additional security. The obverse displays the fifth definitive coinage portrait of Her Majesty The Queen.

What Are the Queen’s Beasts?

The Queen’s Beasts are ten legendary creatures that symbolise the historic ancestry of Her Majesty The Queen. Each statue bears the shield or crest of the family it represents. These statues stood guard outside Westminster Abbey in 1953 during the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

As part of The Queen’s Beasts Collection, their mythical stories have been reimagined for the twenty-first century through a series of ten popular coin designs, created by celebrated designer Jody Clark.
